Getting started
What is KaraokeClip?
KaraokeClip turns any MP4 video into a professional karaoke, with the lyrics synchronized to the voice letter by letter — in minutes, without editing skills. See What is KaraokeClip?.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It's an online tool that runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Brave…). A desktop computer is recommended for the editor, since placing words means pausing and resuming playback a lot. See Recommended setup.
What do I need to start?
A free account, at least 5 credits, and an MP4 video (up to 45 minutes / 3 GB) that contains an audio track with a voice. See Getting started.
Is there a free trial?
No. Creating a karaoke uses real processing power reserved for actual projects, so there are no free starter credits — you need at least 5 credits to open the generator. You can, however, earn free credits. See Getting started.
Can you make the karaoke video for me?
Yes — beyond the self-service generator, our team also offers a made-to-measure "done-for-you" service. Get in touch through the main site with your project and we'll take it from there.
Lyrics & transcription
I don't have the lyrics — can I still use it?
Absolutely. Choose the automatic transcription path and the AI transcribes the voice for you; you then review and correct the text before it's synced. See the two lyrics paths.
Do I really have to correct the transcript?
On the automatic path, yes — briefly. The AI does about 95% of the work; you validate and fix the last 5% on the transcript screen. It's the single step that most affects the quality of your karaoke, and it only takes a couple of minutes.
Why are the lyrics tabs empty or showing the wrong song?
Those tabs appear only when you chose "It's a known song" and typed the artist and title correctly — and even then, a public source can occasionally return a wrong version. They're a free help, not a requirement, and using them wrongly wastes no credit. See The retrieved lyrics (known songs).
The AI transcribed some words wrong — is that normal?
Yes, on tricky audio (voices buried in the mix, very fast delivery, ambiguous-sounding languages). That's exactly what the correction screen is for — fix those few words before validating. See Transcript correction.
The editor & syncing the words
The subtitles are slightly out of time — how do I fix them?
Fine-tune each word on the waveform: drag its handles, or use the − / + buttons for hundredth-of-a-second nudges. For a whole shifted passage, the group tools reposition many words at once. See The waveform editor.
Can I break my project by editing? Can I undo?
No destructive move is possible — annotations can never overlap or leave the track, and no word is ever deleted by the timing tools. If you want to start over, re-import your saved annotations file. See The waveform editor.
Why do some annotations contain two words?
During alignment, very short words (one or two letters) are grouped with a neighbor so the waveform stays readable and the effect natural. This never crosses a line of your text. See The waveform editor.
What's the fastest way to play and pause while syncing?
The spacebar in the editor. On the transcript screen, the ↓ arrow plays/pauses so you never leave the text box. See The waveform editor.
Can I rewrite the lyrics in the editor?
Only light text fixes (a typo). The words you validated earlier are the reference the alignment was computed on, so real rewrites belong earlier — in your lyrics file or the transcript screen. See The waveform editor.
Styling your subtitles
Can I use KaraokeClip for ordinary subtitles, not just karaoke?
Yes. The karaoke effect has three modes: Letter by letter (real karaoke), Word by word (social-media style), and No effect (plain subtitles for a film or a talk). One setting switches between them. See The karaoke effect.
Will my subtitles look right on 4K, Full HD and phone?
Yes — every size is set as a percentage of the video height, so the proportions hold at any resolution. See Font and size.
What's the difference between "classic rotation" and the "fixed reading zone"?
When several lines are on screen at once, this setting decides where the line you're singing appears.
Classic rotation — the sung line moves through the block, position by position. Say four lines are shown: the sung line starts at the top, then on the next line it steps down to the 2nd row, then the 3rd, then the bottom — and wraps back to the top, over and over. The lyrics themselves fill the block from top to bottom; it's the highlighted line that travels down and restarts. Simple, but because the sung line keeps changing height, some singers find it distracting.
Fixed reading zone (teleprompter) — the sung line is always anchored in the same spot (the bottom line of the block). Upcoming lyrics appear above it and scroll down toward that fixed zone as the song advances, exactly like a teleprompter. Your eyes never move — the most comfortable way to follow along.
See The fixed reading zone (teleprompter).
Can I add my own logo or watermark?
Yes — upload a PNG, JPG or animated GIF, place it anywhere, set its size and opacity, and optionally make it move around the frame (harder to crop, great for branding). See Logo / Watermark.
Translation
Can I show the lyrics translated into another language?
Yes — add a second synchronized subtitle line, translated into 80+ languages, in time with the music. It costs 1 credit per language (only on the first successful generation). See Add a synchronized translation line.
Can one video have several translations?
You keep several translations in a session and can produce a different finished video for each language (English, Japanese, Russian…). Each successful translation costs 1 credit; switching back to one you already made is free. See Working with several translations.
What is "AI Neural Alignment" and do I need it?
It's an optional 1-credit upgrade that places each translated word on its exact musical moment — worth it for distant language pairs (e.g. Japanese ↔ French) or professional videos; the free proportional timing is fine for close pairs. See AI Neural Alignment.
Previews & the full video
How many previews can I make?
15 are included, then 1 credit per additional block of 15. Previews are the free way to perfect your look before generating the full video. See Preview settings.
What's the difference between a preview and the full video?
A preview is a short clip at reduced quality with a watermark, to check your work. The full video is the finished file — original resolution, no watermark. See Generating your video.
Can I check the whole video before generating the full one?
Yes — turn on Full subtitle control and a preview also produces a 480p watermarked copy of the entire video, so you can verify end-to-end sync. It's included (2 per block of 15 previews). See Full subtitle control.
Can I get subtitle files (.srt) without paying for the full video?
Yes — the .srt files are downloadable from any generated preview. Note they carry the text and its timing, but not the letter-by-letter karaoke effect (that's burned only into the final video). See Download your subtitles.
Can I regenerate the video, or make a different version?
Two full videos are included, so you can regenerate (to fix a detail or build a completely different version) at no extra cost; beyond that, packs of two more can be unlocked. See Credits & pricing.
Credits, pricing & payment
How much does a karaoke video cost?
A standard video (up to 15 min / 1 GB) costs 5 credits in total. Larger videos fall into higher tiers (7 or 10 credits). See Credits & pricing.
Do credits expire? Can I transfer them?
Credits never expire, and they're transferable between accounts. See What a credit is.
How do I pay, and what does 1 credit cost?
You buy credits on the main site by card (Stripe) or Google Pay. 1 credit = €1, with bonus credits on larger packs. See Buying credits.
What happens if a generation fails — am I charged?
No. A failed action is never charged. If a step fails on our side, no credit is taken. See When a credit is not charged.
Can I get a refund?
Credits aren't automatically refundable, but if you have a problem, contact support and we'll look at it case by case. And remember: a failed action is never charged in the first place. See Still stuck?.
How can I get free credits?
Two ways: the Creator Program (publish videos that link back to us) and referral (earn when people you refer buy). See Affiliate programs.
Session, access & emails
How long do I have to finish my video?
Your workspace lasts 24 hours from when you reach the editor, and you can extend it in 24-hour steps for 1 credit, as often as you like. See Session & access.
I closed the tab — did I lose my work?
No, as long as your session is alive. Come back through the email link; your settings and annotations are saved automatically each time you generate. See If you close the tab.
Which link do I use to come back — the site menu or the email?
Always the email link to resume a project in progress. The menu link opens a brand-new session and won't restore your work. See Two different timers.
I didn't receive an email.
Check your spam / junk folder first. Each key step (processing started, ready, video ready) sends an email with a link back to exactly where you left off. See The follow-up emails.
Can I share my finished video safely?
Yes — the Watch link opens a viewing page made to be shared: people can watch and download that one video, but it gives no access to your session (the resume link lives only in your email). See Watching, downloading and sharing.
Privacy & your data
Are my uploaded videos stored? For how long?
Your video and its audio are used only to build your karaoke, and your working files are removed from our servers when your session ends. Download your finished video before then to keep it. See Keeping your creations.
Are my videos or lyrics used to train AI?
No — never. The AI models are used only to process your project (separating the audio, aligning the words, translating), not to train anything on your content.
Is my personal data safe?
The only personal detail attached to a project is your email, used to send you the step-by-step links. Payments are handled by the payment providers on the main site, not stored by the generator.
Formats & compatibility
What video format can I upload?
MP4 only. If your file is in another format (MOV from a phone, MKV, AVI…), convert it to MP4 first with a free tool such as HandBrake. See Upload your video.
What formats can I export?
MP4 (universal, the default), MKV (flexible archive), or MOV (Apple). You can also choose the codec (H.264 or H.265). See Video output settings.
What resolution is my final video?
The full video is exported at your source video's own resolution, with no watermark — the picture isn't upscaled or downscaled. (Previews are reduced quality on purpose.)
The video won't play on my TV or phone.
Try MP4 with the H.264 codec (the most compatible combination), or open an MKV/MOV file in a player like VLC. See Output & compatibility.
What are the maximum length and size?
45 minutes or 3 GB. For longer projects, split the video into parts. See The three tiers.
Earning free credits (affiliation)
How do I join the Creator Program?
Apply through the partnership form on the main site. You get 10 credits on your first validated request and 14 per renewal (publish a video that links back to us, tell us, and renew — without limit). See The Creator Program.
Why is a line on my affiliate dashboard "Unpaid" or "Rejected"?
Unpaid means the commission is in its 7-day holding period — the credits are on the way, it's not a refusal. Rejected means the sale was refunded, cancelled or disputed, so no credits are paid for that line. See Referral.
Something went wrong
My upload was refused.
Either the file isn't an MP4/.txt, or the video is over 3 GB / 45 minutes. See At upload.
My subtitles show the wrong words.
That almost always traces back to a transcript validated with mistakes — review it carefully before validating. See Lyrics & transcript.
