How it works
Creating a karaoke with KaraokeClip rests on one simple idea: the AI does about 95% of the work — separating the voice, transcribing, and syncing the lyrics to the music — and you validate the last 5% to make it perfect. Here is the shape of the journey.
Two moments
- On the main site, you sign in and add credits — see Getting started.
- In the generator, you turn your video into a finished karaoke.
Two ways to provide the lyrics
When you upload your video, you choose how KaraokeClip gets the lyrics. That choice defines your path.
The lyrics-file path
If you already have a clean text of the lyrics, you provide a .txt file. KaraokeClip goes straight to aligning each word to the voice — the shortest, most precise route.
The automatic-transcription path
If you don't have the lyrics, Whisper transcribes the voice for you. You then review and correct the text before it is aligned — this adds one step.
Which path should you choose?
- Choose the lyrics-file path if you already have an exact, clean transcript of what is sung or said — it is the most precise.
- Choose the automatic-transcription path in every other case. It is the simplest, works even on a live version or a personal video, and you simply review the transcript before syncing.
The three screens
The generator is made of three screens, which you go through in order:
- Upload — choose your video type, upload your MP4, and pick your lyrics option.
- Transcript correction — (automatic-transcription path only) review and fix the transcript.
- Editor — fine-tune the timing of each word, style the subtitles, optionally add a synchronized translation and a logo, then preview and export.
The detailed pages — Upload, Transcript correction, and the Editor — cover each screen in depth.
It all runs in the background
The heavy lifting happens on our servers, not in your browser:
- After you submit, a compute server starts up (about 90–120 seconds), then processes your video. The total time is usually a few minutes and depends on the length of your video — a short clip is typically ready in around 3–4 minutes.
- You don't have to wait on the page. You can close the window and come back later.
- You receive an email at each key step (processing started, ready for the next step, video ready), each with a link that brings you straight back to where you left off. If an email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.
Videos fall into size and length tiers, which affect both processing and cost. See the Credits page for the details.
